- Japan has the pension system that requires all the employers to contribute pension for their employees, whatever citizenships they have, Japanese or foreigners.
- In this pension system there is a compensating repayment called “Lump-sum Withdrawal Payment”(脱退一時金), that is granted for foreign people who don't reside permanently and return their home countries in time.
Lump-sum Withdrawal Payments are paid at the request of foreigners who left Japan. Average sum of Payments = approx.309,000Yen (in 2008) Please keep in mind you have a chance to get your rebate as such, in average. |
- What happens if you don’t claim your Lump-sum Withdrawal Payment?
This is the list of countries that have agreements with Japan, that allow their people to totalize periods having worked in Japan with ones having worked (or will work) in their home countries.(as of summer 2011)Germany, USA, Belgium, France, Canada, Australia, Netherland, Czech, Spain, Ireland - Can you find your home county in this list? If you can’t, you will surrender your pension contribution in Japan unless you have a chance to have a residence in Japan again in the future. For such people as you Lump-sum Payments are set, that must be claimed within 2 years after you leave Japan. Many foreigners seem to be ignorant of this payment or not to know how to claim after leaving Japan, so be left to surrender their contributions. We wish you foreign people who visit our site never to forget that you have a chance to claim your Lump-sum Payment after you leave Japan. (Of course it is OK for people with citizenships listed above to claim Lump-sum Payments. To speak generally, it could be a good option to claim Lump-sum Payments instead of totalizing pension periods, when they work in Japan for a relatively short period, say, about 3 years or less.)
- So people who have worked in Japan and will return home countries!
Would you consider claiming your Lump-sum Withdrawal Payments when you leave Japan?
"Yueisya", Japanese Pub. Consultant on Social Insurance & Labor Sumida Masanori's Office , carries out the whole claim of you after leaving Japan!
This is the flow of claiming Lump-sum payments.
Foreigners must claim Lump-sum Payments from outside Japan, as the figure shows.
To claim from oversea entails risks.
- If there are some defects in documents you file, then your claim will never be accepted, and it can be a difficult task for you to find how your claiming process develops and what is wrong for your claim, now that you are oversea. Especially, you need the fluency in Japanese.(Almost all of Japan's public offices use only Japanese, as you foreigners know!)
- Plus, it takes a long period for a series of claiming Lump-sum Payments. In this period it can be a case that documents which will be sent to you from Japan, that are absolutely necessary for your claim, fail to be sent to your address safely. And when you fail to receive your documents, that means you fail to claim.
- We further show you the advantage we can offer if we claim your Lump-sum Payment on behalf of you. It is ruled that 20% of Tax is deducted from Lump-sum Payment. You can only receive your Lump-sum Payment with 20% deducted by tax. This tax, though, can be claimed to refund if you designate your tax agent (tax representative) in Japan. Yueisya can be your tax agent at the same time we claim your Lump-sum Payment, so we can get your tax of your Payment back, too! We set our fee as low as possible, enough within refunded tax. With this fee we sure will do your claim of Lump-sum Payment and tax-refunding. We give you our service that you can't lose.
